We are very excited to offer up the entire set pf Marjorie M. Liu’s Hunters Kiss Series to one lucky winner this week! Not only that Marjorie has shared an awesome excerpt from latest release A Wild Light so we can get a sampling of just how awesome this series really is and celebrate it’s release. The winner gets a copy of the following:
Hunter Kiss: A Companion Novella to The Iron Hunt and Darkness Calls
The Iron Hunt
Darkness Calls
Armor of Roses Novella in Inked
A Wild Light
Totally Sweeping Alternite Universes
Gotta love them. This aren’t just small differences but, as they would be called in RPGs, total conversions.
AlbertG’s Multi-Universe: I haven’t quite establish what order these should be read in but Albert brings in a number of other universe into the B5 one: STTNG, STDS9, SG-1, Forbidden Planet … pretty much everything but the kitchen sink (and I think I caught a glimpse of that in there somewhere). He’s been writing this series since 2001 and looks like it’s still going strong! Michael is still there as chief of security and is striking up a relationship with a certain beautiful half-Betazoid alien.
Laura Bellmay’s Parallels: No station in this one but lots of familiar characters as they form a resistance against the Shadows. Michael is a Commander in this one.
Castor’s Conspiracy Theory: One of my favorites but sadly unfinished. The Minbari won the war and humans are drugged and programed into being perfect little followers. Michael is the Minbari’s leading human agent, working to keep both humans and Minbari in line.
Garibaldi as a Bad Guy
There aren’t many of these that I’ve found but the ones I have are very good.
Infinite Regress 1c: NexusPoint: What if Michael had not been turned over to PsiCorp but the Shadows kept him? A very good take on what might have happened.
NEGOTIATIONS: What if John hadn’t been been rescued but his return negotiated for? And what if Bester hadn’t released Michael?
Both stories are excellent, though they both really need sequels.
And now something ... depressing
A Penny from Heaven by Emily Brunson is no longer posted on the Internet (if you want to read it, email me) but it is so good I need to mention it. It’s ten years after Garibaldi’s betrayal and disappearance and a dying Bester has summoned John Sheridan to him to tell him the truth about why Garibaldi betrayed him, sending the man on a frantic journey to find his former friend. It’s a heartrending story. Have tissue handy.
Looking for fan fiction no longer posted on the 'Net?
I came back to B5 fan fiction after several years of not reading it and found, much to my horror, that much of the fan fiction is no longer posted. You know the feeling. You read the summary of a story and get all excited only to find that it is a dead link. Well, there is a chance for you to find it. Go to the Wayback Machine and plug in the address of the story you are looking for. You have a good chance that it will come up.
